Japanese Language Proficiency Test
Organized by Japan Foundation & Japan Education Exchanges & Services (JEES) conducted by the Japanese Cultural Society of Singapore.
The objective of the test is to let Japanese language students know their level of proficiency as well as to enhance their enthusiasm for the learning of the language for mutual understanding among nations.

General Information
Please read information carefully before you register for the test.
Registration
- Registration is available online only.JLPT (July) – Registration opens from 11 to 28 March 2024 (in phases).
- JLPT (July) – Registration opens from 11 to 28 March 2024 (in phases).
JLPT (December) – Registration opens from 12 August to 2 September 2024 (in phases). - Registration is open for 3 weeks on a first-come-first-served basis. There will be a limit on the number of candidates for the test. Registration may close early if the maximum number of candidates is reached before the closing date.
JLPT is conducted twice a year.

JLPT (December) : 1 December 2024
Registration is open in phases. Please refrain from making double payment on your registration as a service charge of $5/= will be imposed by Stripe payment gateway when a refund is processed.
Please check the test level carefully before you register. No refund or change of level is allowed after registration.
Registration may close early if the maximum number of candidates is reached before the closing date.
Application Procedure
An adminstrative fee of $10 will be charged should the test be cancelled due to circumstance beyond control (such as Covid/Omicron wave).

This is your guide to filling up the application form. You may encounter problems registering if you do not download the test guide.
Points to note:
As a rule, applicant is not allowed to register for more than one level of the test.
The ‘address’ that you provide on your online application will serve as your ‘mailing address’ for both your test voucher and your score report. Only local (Singapore) addresses will be accepted. If there is any change in your address, please send an email to jlpt@jcss.org.sg to update the detail. Tentative date for mailing of Test voucher: 1 week of June for JLPT (July) and 1st week of November for JLPT (December). Tentative date for mailing of Score Report: end-September for JLPT (July) and end-February for JLPT (December).

After your submission online, please download “JLPT form to finalize your Online Registration” and email to jlpt@jcss.org.sg within 3 days after you submit your application online.

Payment must be made online. Your application will not be processed if we do not receive your payment.
Upon successful registration, you will receive an email acknowledgement confirming your registered level & application within the same day.

A copy of your application form & your Test voucher together with a test notice & map of the test centre will be mailed to you 3 weeks before the test date. Please ensure that your mailing address is correct.
